How to test surfaces for reverse graffiti

Short video showing how to test surfaces for reverse graffiti

Reverse graffiti is the most popular Natural Media technique.  Also known as clean tagging, clean advertising, water graffiti or green graffiti, this technique uses only water, a template and a power-washer (or brush) to literally clean communication messages and images out of the dirt. No ink, no paper or vinyl and generating very little waste.

Though it looks as if the technique consumes a lot of precious water, it actually uses less than 1/10th of the amount of water it takes to produce a piece of paper of a comparable size.

Reverse graffiti simply creates a contrast between the original color of the surface and the dirt and grim that have built up over the years. Reverse graffiti is surface dependent. It does not always produce the desired results but you can make sure the surface you would like to use will produce the desired effect.
